Amber Kasey Fawell was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour and has been undergoing chemotherapy on the tumour nestled somewhere amongst Amber's optic nerves, hypothalamus and pituitary gland.

Amber's case is awaiting assessment by Sydney neurosurgeon Charles Teo, regarded for taking on high-stakes surgeries other doctors consider inoperable.  If Dr Teo gives Amber the go ahead it will cost the family up to $50,000. The Illawarra Mercury goes into more details on her plight here.
