On Thursday Paul from Aqualess installed a raised garden bed bench seat with WaterUps wicking technology in my backyard. It is very big and sturdy and I am very excited!
You can see the video I made documenting the installation process and information about the WaterUps wicking technology which includes reservoirs that mean I don’t have to water the garden for long periods of time.
Today I bought 10 bags of quality organic soil with compost from Bob of Wellington Point. My Aunty Jo and Uncle Dennis drove me. Bob is an amazing gardener and makes the mixture himself. It even includes camel manure! Bob who also sells organic turmeric, turmeric powder and paste, as well as plants. I bought some herbs (dill, lemon thyme, rosemary, oregano), morninga plants and rocket
It rained tonight, which was much appreciated by my front garden. When it stopped raining for a while at 1am I decided it was a good time to pour the 200kgs of soil with compost into the planter beds – either side and behind the bench seat.
I will be planting strawberries, lemongrass, rocket and herbs (dill, rosemary, lemon thyme, mint, sage, chives, and oregano).
I’ve never had a green thumb but that changed in the last few months. It’s so exciting seeing the plants thrive 🌱 🌞
